I appreciate FEAR!…Yep I said it..I’ve given it some thought..I’ve decided to see FEAR as a close girl friend.  Since I understand that FEAR is an emotion that we are physiologically designed with as a protection mechanism..It is designed to warn us of danger..the Fight or Flight side of our nervous system kicks in. OK, so since FEAR is a protector..from now on I’m going to see “her” as my best friend instead of trying to ignore her.

So when I feel fearful, for example, when thinking about being in business full time, and FEAR shows up with her bag full of doubts..I will visualize sitting down with FEAR, giving her a hug, and say I thank you for wanting to protect me and now tell me why you feel you need to protect me. I will listen to her side.  Now ofcourse my friend INTUITION will be sitting next to me so that whatever FEAR says, INTUITION can decipher what’s being said.  If it’s a situation that FEAR feels I need to be warned about because it would be dangerous to me, INTUITION will confirm it.  If it’s a situation that FEAR is just getting too worked up about and she is “dreaming” up situations that have not and may not ever occur(False Evidence Appearing Real)…then I will face FEAR, thank her for her concern, then tell her “I need you to calm down, let me reharness your energy, and create positive affirmations for the situation and let’s walk through this together to see the situation manifest something good.

I then visualize us hugging and being in agreement! NOW THAT FEELS GOOD!

A strong feeling or emotion;something that is desired intensely.

When I think about these definitions, for me it matches how I feel..“Passionate enough about my life to consciously enjoy working through the bitter to experience the sweet”.  As I said in my first posting, “Crossing the bridge from de-pression to ex-pression.

When I Encourage My Soul..I stay healthy!…It wasn’t until I started doing healing work that I became more aware of the link between how I felt about things and how it impacted my overall health. When we have a thought, any thought, a corresponding reaction takes place in the body.   If you have an angry thought, the body will turn hot, the skin will turn red, there will be an acidic reaction in the stomach, etc. The blood overheats and produces such reactions in the body.

Sadness causes a heavy, depressed energy in the body – it weakens the immune system and drains it of energy and vitality as the dismal thoughts then produce corresponding chemicals in the body.

EVERY thought we think, and every emotion that we then feel from that thought has a corresponding chemical reaction in the body. Some are very harmful, create stress and possibly eventually illness or some form of misalignment (your back goes out, etc.) if kept up over a long period of time. The body therefore shows us that what is best for health is joy. The chemical that is produced in our body when we feel joy is an overall tonic and is known to heal cancer. The body shows us exactly what we think in every moment – it is like an immediate mirror image of our inside self that we can see.

Here’s a quick stress relaxtion tip:

Step 1: Stop whatever you are doing right now and take 3 long deep breaths and exhale slower and slower after each inhale.

Step 2: Read the following poem

Crossing the bridge

Encouraging the soul is an intentional journey that can help you cross from sadness to joy, from anxiousness to patience, from dark to light.  Encouraging your soul requires action on your part.  A personal decision to move from a dormant place within to expression.  I’ve come to realize that  if I do not take the action of expressing, which for me is demonstrated in creative ways, such as writing and doing healing work, then the ex-pression may transmute into de-pression. 

 Ofcourse, I speak for myself.  So, when I choose to Encourage My Soul, it activates healing for my body, mind, and spirit.  Encouragement is a daily practice for me and I find that when I can share with at least one other person, it’s like being a firestarter.  In otherwords, we each have an internal flame that requires an infusion of energy, like a log thrown into a fire, to ignite and cultivate the flame to rise and shine brightly.  Upon doing so, unecessary garbage burns off to reveal the beautiful vessel encased within.

What expression is being held within you?  What creative adventure is holding back on the otherside of your bridge?  Do you dare to cross the bridge of Encouragement?  My intention is that the writings that you embrace from this blog ignites something within you, shines a light on areas that need uplifting in your spirit and inturn, you become stronger and are able to help ignite the flame in another spirit that you come across in your day to day interactions.

I plan to start a series of writings called “Breakfast for the Spirit” which will be designed for those that enjoy a  few minutes each morning of dedicated time for encouragement before they start the day.   I also plan to share with you the healing benefits of using Aromatic Therapy and share with you the history of how aromatherapy was used in many cultures as a daily practice and teach you how to incorporate it into your life. 

I want to thank those of you who have been an Encouragement to me over the years and look forward to continuing to be a partner with you in living the best life possible as we journey together in this lifetime.
